Book Review

Life Flight

When it comes to Life Flight, there’s no time wasted in getting right to the action — and the suspense. In this heart-pounding novel from Lynette Eason, the danger for our main characters starts on the first page with a desperate rescue attempt in the midst of a storm. And did I mention there’s a serial killer in the same area?

Synopsis

(From Goodreads)

EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high-stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient — and a serial killer on the loose — tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield’s help. But she’s not out of the woods yet.

In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man, after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer — before he catches one of them.

What I Loved

Penny and Holt just might be my favorite romantic suspense couple so far. Penny is incredibly brave, facing so many challenges throughout this story, yet she never loses her unique sense of humor. Holt is an effective and protective FBI Agent who does his best to balance recapturing a killer with keeping Penny (and others) safe

I loved that these two knew each other before the story began, and loved watching them learn to trust each other with their pasts and share their growing feeling for each other. They had great chemistry from the book’s beginning and complement each other well as each comes to the others rescue several times in the course of their adventure.

The suspense aspect of Life Flight was just as compelling. There were plenty of twists and turns as Holt and Penny try to track down the serial killer, and dangerous situations come one after another. The complications — and the escaped killer — rivaled the intensity of the most suspenseful crime shows. It was hard putting the book down and I raced to find out how this adventure would be resolved.

Life Flight is an exciting novel that features compelling characters, threats around every corner, and several challenges for our heroes to overcome. I really enjoyed going on the adventure of this book, and I can’t wait to read the next novel in Eason’s Extreme Measures series.
